The Pumpkins we carve don't last very long for us either. By the next evening they're all shrivelled up!

Pumpkin56, did you roast any of the seeds for your niece? She will be less grossed out if she understands how good those seeds are to eat!

No I didn't even think about it

I did introduce her to the rice krispie treat though and to my disappointment, she is not a fan

Not a fan of rice krispie treats? Sacrilege!

That's OK about the seeds. Do it next year. I was in my 30s before I even knew you could do that, and then it took me a number of years to figure out how to do it. No one taught me. I just had to experiment. (You roast them slow in a low-temp oven for a couple of hours, stirring every hour, and season them however you like. I prefer garlic salt or Adobo).

I know! How can anyone NOT like rice krispie treats?!
I wanted to roast seeds this year but it just slipped my mind. I think I can buy raw seeds a Whole Foods or maybe Central Market so maybe I can still give it a try

Sorry, I guess we got to swapping recipes or something.
My all-time favorite vampire is probably Barnabas Collins. After that, maybe Gary Oldman in Dracula.
