That's true. The really worst of the worst, like Geoffery Dalmer and the like, would never garner any suspicion what so ever. But evil often poses as good. It often appears glamerous and appealing. Many are drawn to evil because they think it will make them more powerful, richer, or more respected.
Satanists are drawn to the Church of Satan because they think that by selling their soul to the devil, they will some how gain something they desire in the deal. So I would avoid them. Yes, those who hide among us, posing as normal people are the most dangerous, but when they do actualy come out and say "I am a satanist," at least you know to stay away from them.

"We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow." - Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy was very creepy, and for many reason, but mainly because he was a good looking guy, carried a high gpa in law school, and he had just about everybody fooled.
Like I said, the devil often hides behing masks of good. Geofery Dalmer was a rather "geeky" looking guy who was the butt of jokes in high school. He had an abnormaly high I. Q, and he even got some of his friends into the White House for a personal visit with Vice President Walter Mondale. In later years, the guy lived in a Milwalkee apartment and worked in a chocolate factory. Who would have ever thought.
John Wayne Gacey, was the recipient of quite a few rewards, and was also well knwin in politics. He had a successful construction business, and liked to dress up as a clown. He was highly regarded in his community, and again, there was NO CLUE to his true nature.
Dennis Rayder (BTK Killer) was at it for countless years. His rein of terror lasted from the early 70s through the first few years of the new milenium. He was a minor official, who handed out citations for dog leash violations, and worked at a factory that made security systems. He also had the job of installing those systems in people's homes. What really creaped me out about the BTK killer was that he was very active in his church, and attended service every Sunday. Nobody would have ever thought or had any kind of a clue, and he would probably still be getting away with it today, if not for a computer disc.
Richard Rimerez was the most obvious of the serial killers as he openly worshiped satan. He was also big on soldiers, Vietnam and other military asperations. He had a lot of abuse in his background, but like all of the above named serial killers, nobody would have ever suspected.
And then you have IMHNO the two creepiest serial killers of all time. Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac. Neither of them were ever caught. I doube Jack the Ripper poses a threat to anyone any mnore, but the Zodiac is likely still at large.
So I guess the "moral" of the story here, if you want to place a moral on this gruesome story, is that while most serial killers pose as good, and fade into the background, you could run into another Richard Rimerez irf you hand out with satanists.

I don't know about that. But i know he kept girls chained in his basement, raped, tortured, and forced them eat a nice, tasty ground up flesh/ dogfood dish. And this guy was a 'Christian'.
It's like something out of a movie iHaunt would watch.

Satanism can be an embracing of "evil" as it is traditionally know in the Judeo-Christian tradition, but it can also be an offshoot of maltheism (the belief that God exists but that, based on the cruel nature of existence, he must be evil). Some maltheists, who accept the existence of the Christian God but consider him to be evil, adopt Satanism as a rejection of that God, which would make sense considering the notion that God and Satan are opposites. As opposites, if one is deemed evil, the other is deemed good, and thus worthy of worship. In this way, such Satanists do not consider themselves evil at all, nor do they seek to do evil deeds.
Personally, I believe in the existence of neither God nor Satan, and thus don't feel prepared to offer a judgment as to the goodness or evilness of their hypothetical natures.

I never heard of Maltheism. I do believe that fo the most part, satanists are embracing evil.
iHaunt, I quite agree. That is sick, and I really feel for those girls. The "Christianity" practiced by that pervert was most likely a cover-up.

If you think that's bad you should hear about the moors murderers.
I've been reading too much from the A to Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers. Very disturbing but fascinating.
