The Strangers

My cousin and I went and saw THE STRANGERS. Without giving out the detail, it was pretty good movie. Some people wear masks, and I think they broke into a house where the residents live there. I suggest you see it! 8)

 I do know every teen like you hate parents because of their rules. Same thing happened to me before... When I was 10 year old, I wanted to go see Dawn of the Living Dead and so many bad movies with R-rating version, you know? My mom adviced my grandpa not to take me out to see these movies, somehow I managed to go sleep over my friend's house for the weekend, they took me to see the movie! Hee hee... Until, then I was 15, they (my mom and grandpa) decided to let me go see any movies with "R" ratings... Also, some "Not Rated" versions have strong violence, blood and guts, gory, etc. Well, I know there are a lot of kids always sneaking out to see some movies with anyone over the age 17. Many teenagers always do that without their parents find out. Well, that's life. ;)

I was sure you were going to say that. But there rules are stupid! I have to get off tghe computer at 7:00 because I am on it all day. I think that is too early! I have nothing else to do the rest of the day. Out in the country there is nothing to do!

Well, some parents make their teens to get off the computer and the phone by 8 PM.

Well, long time ago, when I was a teen, my grandparents made some house rules, you know? I was bad because I did break some of the house rules! Even, no smoking and no drinking, but I DID, anyway!

A few minutes ago the computer started freezing up again. I get mad and give the screen a harmless punch. I hear my dad yelling "HEY!". I turn around and see him standing in the doorway. I say "How long have you been standing there?". He says "A few minutes. Get off.' I yell "Stop spying on me I am right in the middle of stuff!". He says "You hit the computer get off.". I wanted to grab a knife and kill him. I would never do anything like that I was just so pissed. I HATE MY PARENTS THEY ARE SO STUPID!!

Please don't do that! You don't have to kill you dad because he wanted to save his money on computer for you, perhaps? Well, I spent more money for staying online from hours to hours - I received a bill, so guess what??? I have to pay $79.99! If you ever been online for one hour, it would charge an additional expense!

Anyway, I know "Life always sucks!" because of all the dumb rules and laws too! I did break some laws, but I was luckily not going to jail!

Myself & the Mrs. went to see The Strangers on Saturday. I didn't enjoy it much, but it sure scared the hell out of my wife. Seriously, she made me hold her hand all night while sleeping. The advertising caught my eye and sort of forced me to go see it. The advertisment for the movie looked good, but the movie it's self was pretty boring.

I really liked it. It was just old school horror/suspense. Not all the torture/gore that you see today like Saw or Hostel.

A few parts definitely made me jump. The crowd was screaming. It was fun :)

They need to make more scary movies like this. Go back to the roots of horror. SUSPENSE is what it's all about.

I thriller is a movie with lots of suspense. A horror movie has monsters and really scary stuff but they do not have to have gore to be a horror movie.

There's movies that can fall under all those categories at once.

The Strangers for instance: You never know what's going to happen or when. Just that something bad is inevitably going to occur = Suspense.

I'd say 3 strangers in masks, whom you don't know until the end if they're real people or something supernatural, that are trying to brutally kill you is pretty horrifying

I'd consider Halloween horror/thriller as well. This movie definitely borrowed from Halloween. Even the one killer's little head tilt thing that he did as he was stalking their friend Mike.

Then you get into all the subgenres: slashers like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or the supernatural like The Excorcist. They're all kinda the same and they're all kinda different. A good movie is a good movie :)

Remember what I said about my parents rules and when I was mad at dad? I want to let you know I would never do anything to hurt them and they are good parents. I was just angry at the time. But some rules really are stupid.
