I believe in aliens Chang. Whether they have visited us though is another kettle of fish.

Murf, I've only been to Stonehenge once, but it was an amazing sight! :)

I agree, there's so many stars & galaxies out there that there's gotta be intelligent life somewhere.

I actually believe that there's many different kinds of alien civilizations out there, some more advanced than us & some less advanced. Whether we will ever make contact is a different thing though due to the distances involved. Perhaps other worlds have or will find a way?

Some people fake seances.

Personally I wouldn't.

I did a Ouija Board once in school & it put me off ever doing something like that again. It wasn't a bad experience, just something that at the time shook me up a little & i've never forgotten it. So no I wouldn't want to try it.

A lot of people say that experiences with Ouija Boards have shaken them up. The only times I ever tried to play with them--during childhood--I guess I didn't have the patience required. It seemed to me that we would sit there forever while a whole lot of nothing happened. I stopped playing with them because they were boring.

Murf, that is exactly what I hear a lot of people say, but ouija boards, seances and the like are a good thing to stay away from just the same. Besides that, Catholics are forbidden to take part in seances, to dabele with ouija boards or actively participate in anything that tries to contact the realm of spirits. Ni niece takes part in seances, and her and I had an argument a couple of years ago because I wouldn't allow her to hold a seance in my house. Believe it or not, she actualy accused me of being 'superstitious,' because of my belief that the Church is right in now allowing Catholics to contact the realm of spirits. She does not believe in the existance of hell, satan or demonic spirits.

So your niece believes in spirits, but thinks they are all friendly? Seems to me she would know from observing humankind that not everyone can be trusted.

There is a lot of proofable stuff to learn before trying to worry about ghost and goblin stuff. I like science better than folklore and witchcraft.

I like both, actually. I was a strong student in my science classes years ago and have always respected that way of learning about the world. But I don't discount folklore, either. There is a lot of wisdom in it.

I believe that there are some things in this world that can't be explained. I do look for a scientific explanation though as well.

I don't know what my niece believes in terms of the friendliness of spirits, but I do know that she does like to take part in and hold seances, and I just plain wish she wouldn't. She and I had an argument when I wouldn't let her hold a seance in my house, but she finaly realized that it is against my faith.

I do agree with the Church regarding the realm of spirits. It's very dangerous to try to contact it, because you could be contacting any thing. Playing around with the realm of spirits either via seances or a ouija board has often come to no good. I won't even allow anyone to bring a ouija board into my house.
