Please help me settle this dispute

Post by spookyboo » Sun Sep 09, 2007 3:22 pm

First let me say that I like Elvira....I think she really represents Halloween well, however
when I came home earlier I found that my Husband had posted a picture of her as
wallpaper on the computer This picture

Image

I think he could have picked a better picture than that considering I use the computer much more than he does......and ......he wants to keep it up there until Halloween.
I disagree of course so, after "discussing our options" He agreed to let a Poll here on the forum decide if the picture goes or if it stays. If there are more yes votes he keeps his picture ....until Halloween and if more no votes I get to replace with my choice of picture.
Please vote freely!!! Thank you for your cooperation

Never been a big Elvira fan. Always thought she was a "Butter face".... So I vote no. 8)

I like Elvira so I voted yes...I used to watch her Movie Macabre show in the 80's, which was fun on a day of generally boring programing, and later, in the mid-90's, I saw her live show a couple of times at Knott's Scary Farm's Halloween Haunt, and it was really good. On the basis of that, I say Elvira is okay!

No...BUT you should let him keep it up untill October 1st. It's a compromise. Let him have sexy Elvira till Oct 1st at which time you take it down and put up what you want.

I'd rather have on my wallpaper, a screen size shot of spookyboo's avatar.
I, too, have never been a big Elvira fan.

Just a little side note. For those of you who liked Elvira's Movie Macabre horror host TV show, or for those who perhaps never saw it and would like to get an idea of what it was like, you can go to Ebay and find Ed Wood's movie "Night of the Ghouls" on VHS. It is from the "Elvira's Midnight Madness" VHS series.

Elvira created a wraparound intro/outro that is basically what her show was like. Several other movie tapes like this were done but I think this is the best example. Available fairly cheep. You get to see her on a spooky castle set, there is thunder and lightning and atmosphere, etc. Fun stuff if you like that sort of thing, and this is the classical horror host routine popularized by Zacherley, Vampira and the others in the 50's and 60's.

Nos, you should join the diplomatic corps!

Compromise is good, but I voted no. I like the idea of sharing... he gets Sept, you get Oct.

Actually, I can't re-vote, but I like the idea of sharing too. One month his, one month yours. It's fair.

I voted no - but i think the sharing idea is a good one!!! You get October and he gets September. Or, perhaps choose a less revealing pose of elvira.

I do agree with MHooch and Mandy0221!

Your hubby can keep HIS for the entire month of September.

YOU (Spookyboo) can change something what you like to do and keep it for the entire month of October!

Why do you not like the Elvira picture? Because it's too revealing? I would rather look at her than corpses all over the place. But if my fiance had it up I would be upset too. There are other wall papers for Halloween

I don't have a problem with Elvira or even that picture per se, but it's not terribly Halloweeny, even as Elvira pix go. So I voted no.
