The Dead End's newest "employee"

I'd like to introduce to y'all, Ernster Gräber, our new gravedigger -- or at least to his head:

I finished him up a couple of hours ago. I started working on this wig head back in April, then didn't touch it again until a few days ago. I think it may have taken maybe 10 days to complete altogether, including making the casting of the wig head. Originally, it was for a pirate, but I am not doing the pirates this year.

Here's his progress:

Hey ghostess, Ernster looks amazing! I can't believe the rate at which you can produce all these props, it's simply astonishing. Do you do this for a living? What kind of room do you need for all of your props making supplies? I sure hope Emily gets to help out so that hopefully she'll pick up on your talent and interest. You must need a huge area to store all your decorations. I just love your work though, you sure have quite the gift.

Thank you DoD! I call this time of year my "Haunt Growth Spurt" because I crank out a whole bunch of props at once for about a month. I don't do anything for a living right now, it's just all for me and for fun. I keep a couple of cabinets in the garage for my materials, and a shelf in my closet for some smaller detail crafty stuff. I have a space in my attic devoted to wood and PVC and foam scraps, and a small shelf under my desk with some shoebox sized clear boxes with some other assorted stuff in it. I have more power tools than my husband in the garage as well, plus I use some of his stuff at times.

Emily does get to help me with some things. She loves to paint and work with paper mache. All 3 of my kids have the artistic touch and love to create things. They also love to help out with my projects when they can, and my 13 year old son is learning how to use power tools safely.

As for storing everything... well... here're the pictures:

You amaze me. You should start doing this for a living. I assure you we would be there first in line to purchase these props. I cant believe you have room to store all of the stuff.
