Tobacco products stopped shipping???

Post by iHaunt » Tue Aug 03, 2010 12:07 am

Is it a new law??? I did ordering a new products online, but they adviced me to wait until they get a very private shipper.... it is illegal or not? They told me the Federal Government has ordered all of the Tobacco Products companies or businesses to stopped shipping any orders via US Postal, UPS even FedEx.

Tell me more what I don't know.... anyways, she told me to call back later this week by Friday noon.

How ironic that I quit smoking or I'd make a fuss about this :-)

‘(a) Prohibition-

‘(1) IN GENERAL- All cigarettes and smokeless tobacco (as those terms are defined in section 1 of the Act of October 19, 1949, commonly referred to as the Jenkins Act) are nonmailable and shall not be deposited in or carried through the mails. The United States Postal Service shall not accept for delivery or transmit through the mails any package that it knows or has reasonable cause to believe contains any cigarettes or smokeless tobacco made nonmailable by this paragraph.

‘(b) Exceptions-

‘(1) CIGARS- Subsection (a) shall not apply to cigars (as defined in section 5702(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986).

‘(2) GEOGRAPHIC EXCEPTION- Subsection (a) shall not apply to mailings within the State of Alaska or within the State of Hawaii.

I thought it had something to do with the taxes in my state. If you want a pack of Marlboros they're like...$9.44 a pack. I'm serious. I'm glad I don't smoke, but I do work in a smoke shop. I feel sorry for the smokers. I know they shouldn't be smoking, but some keep going on 10 bucks a pack. No way I could afford to smoke if i wanted to!
Of course, maybe it has to do with youth tobacco prevention. Let's face it, the kids are going to find a way around it. If they have a friend that's 18, chances are the friend will get the smokes for them. Another stupid law is now the smokes are identified as colors rather than lights, ultra lights, menthols etc.
Now they're golds or blues, silvers, and greens.
In my opinion, turning the packages into colors instead of words just makes it easier to identify them.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

They should be identified with little pictures of lungs in various stages of blackening, or with different sized little tumors.

I never know until my head hits the feathers how I will sleep lately.

Last night, very sound. The previous week, meh.

Still it is better than voluntary smoke inhalation.
