I love listening to Coast to Coast AM when I can't sleep, and 'Infowars' as well as 'Before It's News' can be very entertaining web sites.
But usually my tinfoil hat is pretty loose until I see stuff like what is in this photo, in real life.
I just took this picture on the patio here at the office. Today's date is JULY 9, 2010.
Any-hoo, if you enjoy topics like 'climate change' the Illuminati, UFO's...whatever, feel free to post here.
And enjoy the glorious fall color.

I am a huge coast to coast fan!
I listen to it a lot when I go to bed.
I'm like you, the skepticism is there until I investigate it a little bit. But I love George Noory and Art Bell and the crew.

You're right about Ian, but I really like George.
But Art is terrific.
Do you know about the Nighthawk Zone? I'm sure you do. It's a good site to post on while listening to the shows.
Nothing like the group we have here, but still cool.

Yes, I'm not huge on the conspiracy thing, but it's interesting listening.
I had forgotten about Snopes, I had heard about it and forgot to look it up. Thanks for posting the link!

Yep. I usually use it when my relatives forward right-winger emails to me, but it's also useful to find out if that internet picture of the guy who got half eaten by a shark is real, or if that dude really got his head cut off when he fell on a fence the wrong way....

More autumn color in early July.
I was taking a walk in a wooded field this morning and whaddya know, one of the gigantic maples is starting to turn already.
I couldn't get a more clear shot, these are full zoom, but the tree is very tall.

On my way home this evening in Palo Alto CA.
It was 46 degrees this morning, and right now it's 50.
Hmm, apparently climate change is my one and only conspiracy.

I was out taking photos with a Biology Class at the college where I work. Everyone was noticing the same thing. There was a patch of leaves that were turnig fall colors, and it was Early July. The teacher explained that's the way a tree 'goes to the bathroom.' That's right. Trees and other plants have to excreat waste, too, and it does so by sacroficing a few leaves and branches. You ever notice all those dead branches on your lawn after a windy day or a storm? Those dead branches are TREE POOPY!!! narf narf.

Oh totally. I get people all the time with this. I never forward e-mails that I don't check first if I'm skeptical.

Although I love fall and autumn...an early autumn could very well mean an early winter; and NO one wants that.
Not only that, but I kind of like there to still be beautiful colorful leaves on the trees when Halloween's around.

That's kind of how I look at it. All the leaves on the ground and their aroma. All the beautiful Fall colors and the crispness of the air are all part of the Halloween spirit. I also do NOT WANT Winter to come any earlier then it actualy does around where I live.
