TV ad's

Post by Spookymufu » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:20 pm

Am I the only thats bothered by the little animated commercials at the bottom of the screen when you're trying to watch a TV show? Just when you didnt think they could fit more ad's on TV they now put them on DURING the show!

Not as much as ads above urinals. I don't need to see an ad for Coke while I'm trying to get rid of the last one.

My dentist has posters on the ceiling of her office for teeth whitening, right over the exam chair.

Yes! I find that so annoying! It's extremely distracting when I'm trying to watch a show and an animated ad appears at the bottom of the screen.

Just this morning I was going to start a thread about commercials in general -- which commercials you can't stand, to the point of wanting to either hurl a brick through your TV set, or commercials you like.

As a woman, the most offensive is the Kotex "Have a Happy Period" ad campaign. Sorry, there's nothing happy about that time of the month. Then there are the tampon commercials (not sure if it's Kotex or Tampax) where Mother Nature appears in the woman's hot dream presenting her with her "monthly gift" -- a small red box with a red bow. I also can't stand commercials featuring nasaly kids with speech impediments, as if we're supposed to think it's soooooooo cute. There are also the awful local lawyer commercials -- one in particular in the Houston area is for Jim Adler, who calls himself "The Texas Hammer." This isn't a TV commercial, but I despise those radio commercials for auto insurance where the police siren is blaring. It always gets me nervous because at first I think there's a cop after me! Then I realize it's a commercial and I'm relieved but really pissed.

On the other hand, I love that commercial for Mighty Dog, where the Jack Russell terrier is barking at the two female lions stuck up in a tree.

There are more that I hate and love, but right now I can't think of them all off the top of my head.

LOL!

I agree with everything you just said, I hate those same commercials, and I need to add one to your lawyer list.........Binder&Binder, I hate the guy wearing the crocodile dundee hat....At first I thought he was trying to appeal to the "cowboys" that we all know Texas is just full of  and wearing a "cowboy hat" but it isnt a cowboy hat, so I figured he got some bad fashion advice as if someone grabbed a hat they had in their closet and said "here wear this in the commercial, they all wear cowboy hats in Texas I saw it in a movie" but handed him a crocodile dundee style hat because they didnt know any better. So in this commercial you have a lawyer (nerd type) wearing an expensive suit and a crocodile dundee hat.......

On the other hand, I really enjoy the pothole commercial where the Porsche hits the pothole and the pothole talks.....thats classic...........and junk :)

I know I've seen Binder & Binder commercials -- I don't think I've seen the hat one. I'll have to look for it.

There's this weird local commercial. It's aired on Spanish channels and it's for a beauty cream that comes in a jar. During the commercial, a snail slithers across the bottom of the screen! I don't know what this means -- does the product contain snail poop, pee, sperm, or crushed up shells? Or will your skin feel like a snail or will you morph into a snail? Whatever the case, seeing that snail definitely makes me not want to buy it!

One that I have seen on Telemundo is for a prosthetic butt for ladies, to get that J-Lo caboose.

YIKES! I like Telemundo but they have some crazy commercials!

I would never put anything on my face or skin hawked by a snail anywhere in the ad!
*Shiver* Snail slime is a major no no!

Yeah, like with their car commercials! It's hilarious -- the sleazy car dealer always has some big-chested, scantily clad hot chick standing next to him helping to try to sell his cars. And the commercials are very long in length, almost like an infomercial. Cowboy Kia especially cracks me up -- the dealer is dressed like a cowboy, yet he's talking in Spanish!

Free Credit Report dot com commercials. I literally cover my ears, shut my eyes, and yell at the top of my lungs until they are over (I count forty seconds in my head, just to be sure). Scares the bejeebers out of my wee dugs.

Oh those Freecreditreport commercials are the bane of my existence!
Plus this man who hawks cars here..he has the yellowest teeth and he is always grinning cheesily at the camera!! ICK!

I'm getting mighty sick of the Kindle commercials as well.

I've never seen a commercial for Kindle, which is odd because I live in the valley of silicon...no Dolly Parton jokes.

Or do you mean commercials on a Kindle? I don't have a 'reader' I like books.

Shoot! I haven't even turned on the TV in weeks. Can't think of any commercials that bug me.

Been watching a lot of YouTube videos. How about those ads? Wouldn't mind so much if they would pop up and then go away, having to click to close is irritating. I wonder if there's an app for that?
