I can't believe this car is mine! (Now with Pictures!)
After painful weeks and weeks upon weeks of searching different cars, and every time we ran into a great buy or something that would be worth the money or even just approved by my father, it was swept away under my feet like the wind by another buyer: my dad has finally found me a car!
This beautiful automobile is a 2001 Mercury Sable, with a metalic brown color that resembles marroon in the sunlight, it has a sun roof, CD player, air conditioning, eletronic locks, oh yeah...did I mention it had a V6 Engine? This is an awesome ride. It's gotta be 3 times bigger than my car, and definately more powerful. This hot rod is quite a power house, it really goes when I push in the gas pedal, something I'm definately not used to with the limited get up and go that my old car had. I feel blessed to have this car, I honestly don't know what I could've done if it weren't for my dad finding this for me. There's a tiny bit of touching up to do on it, but none of it is really a big deal. But when I look at it, I think dang I can't believe this is MINE! I mean, this is a luxury sedan! The car is huge, powerful, and a sweet ride. It's also quite a beauty too.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with the forum: I've got a new car and it's a beauty! And...I can't believe it's really mine! My first three cars were clunkers, but this is best car I've had as of yet.
And, it only cost me $2,200! This was definately a sweet deal!

This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

I just for a new car myself!!!!!! I am still looking out the window at it thinking "I can't believe I get to drive that!" It's a 2009 pontiac vibe. This is the first new car I have owned. It's a great mom car and still kind of sporty. I feel that my little girl and I are totally safe in it.
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted- nevermore!

Re: I can't believe this car is mine!
Both your stories remind me of the time my dad and I found a 1974 Pontiac Lemanse. Even though I'm more of a Ford and Mercury person, this car was fully loaded. It had airconditioning, a 350 V-8 Engine w ith a 4 barrel carb, and could get up and go like nobody's business. This was back in 1981, when I was working as a Teachers Aid for a Catholic School and was still in College myself. The car had 35,000 miles on it when I bought it, and I paid $950.00 TOTAL PRICE. My gf who I was dating at the time really loved that car. She couldn't keep her hands off the radio dial, a 50 watt per channel after-market deal, with an 8 track tape player. That was a really big deal back in the 70s, and I had quite a collection of 8 track tapes, and believe it or not, I had an 8 track recorder that I used to make tapes from my albums for the car.
I drove that car about a hundred thousand miles before I traded it for a brand new (1984) Toyota Pick-up Truck.
I really miss that car at times. It was in mint condition, and I bet I could get quite a bit for it if I still had it.

Re: I can't believe this car is mine!
Well, this car is my first car that isn't in the geo/chevy metro and tracker series.
I kind of consider my first three cars in the same family of cars since my first car was a Geo Metro '94, my Second was a '92 Geo Tracker, and my third a 2000 Chevy Metro.
Now I'm driving a Mercury Sable. A Mercury! I think you'd like my car pumpkin man!
This one has a cd player that holds up to six cds, air conditioning and the works. Even a sun roof! Mine's fully loaded and can take off like Sonic the hedgehog in a hurry! (Yeah I'm a total nerd, I know!)
Oh man, It's gonna take a lot of time to get used to it. I think by the time Halloween rolls around I'll be used to the idea that I'm driving in style instead of in a clunker. It was well worth saving up for it though! Not to mention I feel a lot safer in this than I ever did in my metro. Which, by the way I need to clean up and put up for sale. I probably won't get much for it. It'll probably go as a part's car. It kind of makes me sad though, had some great moments in that car. I even passed my road test in it!
Any takers?
Anyway, I gave my grandma a ride in it, she was impressed! I just wanna go show it off to everyone! I know I'm pretty much broke now since 99% of my money went toward it, but I feel rich driving it!

Mercuries are nice. I am hoping that's what my next car will bee. I'm thinking in terms of either a Mountaineer or a Milan, but I also love the Grand Marquis and the Sabel. I don't know when I'll be getting my next car, however, because I have " new motorcycle" fever really bad. I looked at a Triumph Rocket III touring bike a few weeks ago, and it was love at first sight. That's what I want in the worst wayr ight now.

Hmmmmmm a Halloween Car. Here's what I would do. Go find a burned out wreck and a plastic skeliton. Get a really good boom box and a sound effects CD with a car engine. Place the skeleton at what use to be the stirring wheel. For even better results, you can find yourself an old washing maching motor and hook it up to the rear wheels tomake them spin, but you will need to have the car on blocks just high enough so the tires are offf the ground, otherwise you will burn up the motor. Then some black lights and dri ice fog for effect. Red LEDs in the eyes of the plastic skeliton would also make it look a little scarier.
Now if you realy want to make it real, you get a fake skeleton that's made out of something fireproof. Run gas jets to the inside of the car and ignit it. The sound effects boom box and washing maching motor, however would have to be protected some how. Now that would really rock. But you might need to be Rockerfeller to make that happen.

Re: I can't believe this car is mine!
I made a topic about decorating your car for halloween before, but this is kind of different.
This is more like taking an old car and making it into a prop.
Unfortunately, not only do I have the mechanical savvy-ness to do something like that, but I don't have the money.
However, that would be a great thing to do with my old metro. Man I wish I could do something like that, it would be killer awesome. But even if I did have the mechanical know-how, my grandmother wouldn't let me do it.
But that doesn't mean I can't put a few halloween decorations in my car!
I'd love to put a coffin with a skeleton poping out at whoever opens up the trunk and with the lights lighting up going "Mwahahahahaha!"

Well, if I were a ghost I'd want something brand spankin' new. Just because I was dead doesn't mean I wouldn't want to ride in style!
Although, they really can fix up those old cars in car shows and parades to look brand new.
Hmm...I wonder what my perfect haunt mobile would look like? I know what my dream cars consist of!
However, if I won the mega millions I would probably have more than one car...I'd probably get a custom made motor cycle as well, either a harley or one of those west coast or orange county choppers. It'd have to be custom made because I'm short. I'm not a midget by any means, I'm over five feet tall, but compared to the average person I am pretty danged short. >>;

Re: I can't believe this car is mine!
If you're speaking in terms of a car that looks creepy or spooky, one of those old relics from the 50s or late 40s would be a great Halloween car. One of the car shows th at I went to, this guy had a hearse. It was a 55 Cadlack, and it had a coffin in it, but the engine was a larg block V-8 with stacks sticking out of the hood. It had Skull & Cross bones painted on all the doors, and the hood ornament was a skull with fangs.
It didn't do too bad on the drag strip, either.

Actually, I think I know what the perfect Halloween car would be:

Anyone recongnize this evil mobile of death?
And I would so love to have a hearse with a coffin and a popping up skeleton at anyone who opens the trunk.
Actually I think that would be a fun trick in the back of my car if I take it to the garage for a tune up.
