I don't know if I believe this one or not. Spyders, like any other wild creature, have an instinct for survival. They would never crawl into someone's mouth as they instinctivly know that they could be swallowed. It jsut doesn't make any sense. That's not to say that bugs of various kinds can't be swallowed. I swallowed a horse fly, after it flew into my mouth. I imediately threw up, but it happens. I've also had wasps fly into my helmet while I was riding my motorcycle, and sting me, and one time when I was visiting a buddy of mine in Park Forrest Ilinois, I spend the night in his appartment, and when I woke up the next morning I was covered with roaches. Sort of freaked me out.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Eh, some good news at least...

I don't need a shot, I just had a pill of benadryl and the bite is looking better.

Still freakin' hurts though... :?

We just had a monster of a storm here in sunny California and the roads along my commute are littered with so much debris that I thought I was going to lose control of the car and drive off of a cliff.

I love a good storm, as long as I don't have to be out in it.

It worked wonders for Spider-Man. Was it radioactive?

Holy cr*p. I went to start my car this morning and the generator light came on. The engine started but the power steering is out. I just had a brand new accessory belt put on so it's probably the alternator.

I am so p****d off right now.

Knowing the food served at my school, it probably is.

Still, no signs of Spider-man like powers yet. :(

Andybev, your fan belt does a lot of jobs besides rotating the fan. It operates the water pump, the power stearing pump, the alternator and if your car has airconditioning, it operates the compressor. When it breaks, all of those functions don't work. Your engine can also seriously overheat if the water pump fails.

You said you put on a new belt. It's possible that it could have slipped off because it was not installed properly. I say that because you said your power stearing is out and your alternator warning light came on. That being the case, that's highly indicative of the fan belt breaking or slipping off. Be very careful and keep your eye on the temp gague if you drive it in to have it fixed. Your engine WILL over heat if the coolant is not circulated properly, and you can literaly burn up the engine. It could cease in, and in some cases, the istons litteraly melt to the sides of the cylenders.

You would probably be better off having the car towed rather then try to drive it.

Mike

Mike

this really depends on the car, newer cars have a uni-belt that serpentine's around all those pully and one belt runs all, older cars have several belts that operate each device.....
