Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: The Dumping Ground
There are all types.
The 'big one' from 1989 was like ripples on water, wave after wave that started gentle and built up to tsunami force.
The concrete floor I was standing on rose and fell about a foot either way and the doors in my apartment opened and slammed shut the whole time. Outside the window the pool was sloshing around like a bowl of water.
Others are like someone dropping a huge weight beside you...just one big 'thud'!
Like snowflakes, no 2 are alike.

Re: The Dumping Ground
during the Northridge quake I was working security and was in my patrol car and it started bouncing like someone was jumpping up and down on the bumpper, I was like "wtf?"
during another quake a few things fell off my shelves and broke and again I was like "what is that?"..............luckily I never lived close enough to one that I had major damage or injury

Re: The Dumping Ground
Northridge was a doozie from what I hear. I remember seeing the EMT rescuing that parking lot sweeper dude from underneath that collapsed parking lot.
The first one I was in I was sleeping on the living room couch and the shaking woke me up. I thought I was being pranked by my sister.

Let's say I chose to take up residence in a cardboard refrigerator box on the beach. What kind of numbers would I be looking at.....??
