That's one of my all time favorite horror shows. When I saw it in the theatre it was scary enough. When I was home alone in the dark watching it on that big silver screan in my living room in my creepy old haunted house, it was even scarier.
I also saw the sequel in the theatre and at home. It didn't have nearly the impact as the first flick, but it was a good movie and a good story. But for anyone who likes Halloween, "The Blare With Project" is a great scare for the money.l

i know many horror fans hated it, but like mike i loved it and still do

i think it was original and had a great marketing angle

i recall seeing the documentary that showed on television before the movie premiered, and thinking it might have been real

it scared the hell outta me way more than blood, guts, and cgi

i'm more scared by what i don;t see than what i do

this, of course, plays on our most basic of fears: the unknown

it was also a film that explored human nature under stress, and i always find it interesting to see man's devolution to his most basic instincts, his ugliness

It was genius with the way it was marketed and filmed, but ultimately useless.

Well useless or not, "The Blair Witch Project" is going into my DVD player in October. That movie scares the beejeebers out of me every time I play it. I live in this old, haunted looking house to boot. The last time I screaned "The Blair Witch Project," I was hearing all kinds of wierd noises in the house after the movie was over and I went to bed.
I would LOVE to see a well made prequel to that story. A movie that takes place in the day the Blair Witch was still alive in mortal flesh.

WHat?! Has it really been 10 years?! I feel old....er. I need to find it and watch it again. I remember my brother going to see it at the Sundance Film Festival, he came home telling everyone how awesome and creepy it was...shortly after that it blew up.

That's exactly what I think happened, Adrien. People just missed the point. The movie was SUPPOSED to apear it was done by college students who were learning how to produce a documentery.
Like I said, "The Blair Witch Project" is a Halloween standard at my house every October.

it's a halloween standard for me, too, and the most terrifying movie i've ever seen, because it was set in pseduo-reality
